7 minute read

We are incredibly proud to share that Langtree Care Home has received ‘Highly Commended’ recognition in the prestigious Design in Mental Health Awards 2026, within the Project of the Year UK category.

This national award celebrates excellence in the design of mental health and care environments, bringing together professionals from across funding, design, build, management, and clinical delivery. The team at Langtree are honoured to be recognised in this category, reflecting the ambition, dedication and heart that went into every aspect of Langtree’s creation.

From the very beginning, Langtree was an ambitious project. The vision was to create a home that combined dementia-focused therapeutic design, continuity of care, future pandemic resilience, and landscape-led wellbeing. All of this set within a single, thoughtfully designed space.

Langtree stands as a place where residents, families and staff can genuinely love being part of, and this recognition confirms that the approach we chose was the right one.

Awards like this don’t happen in isolation, it’s a full team effort. This Highly Commended recognition belongs to everyone who played a part in bringing Langtree to life. A huge thank you to our leadership team, clinical staff, consultants, contractors, specialist suppliers, and the wider stakeholder community who helped shape the final outcome.

We’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to our architects at ACA, whose expertise and commitment to meaningful design were central to the project’s success. Their in-house team’s passion for creating environments that improve wellbeing was evident throughout, and we’re proud to have worked alongside them.

Most importantly, this achievement reflects the commitment of the entire Millennium Care Group team. We’re proud to have so many people who consistently go above and beyond to create exceptional environments for those in our care.

The Design in Mental Health Network exists to improve mental health outcomes by promoting quality standards and knowledge exchange in care design. Being Highly Commended by such an organisation affirms that Langtree is not just a care home — it’s a benchmark for what thoughtful, progressive care design can look like.

Langtree was built on the belief that the right environment makes a real difference to people’s lives. To have that acknowledged on a national stage is something the whole team should be immensely proud of.

Omair Haider, Managing Director, Millennium Care Group

We look forward to building on the success of Langtree and continuing to push the boundaries of what outstanding care looks like — for our residents, their families, and our dedicated teams.
