Lavender Hills' Christmas collection

3 minute read

Millennium Care’s Ramsbottom-based home, Lavender Hills, collected toys and essential items to hand deliver to a vital youth service and a local charity in the run-up to Christmas.

Led by Jeannette Morgan, Team Leader at the home, it is the second time the home has committed to supporting the community in this way.

Around 60 toys were delivered to the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity. The Trust raises funds for the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, which comprises 10 hospitals within the region.

Supporting the Trust’s Christmas appeal, toys are gifted to those who are part of their pioneering youth services, one of only three in the country.

“The charity means a lot to me as my daughter is disabled and spends a lot of time in the hospital. The Play Team help by providing her with activities that have been donated to keep her occupied. To be part of that from a giving perspective is a great joy.

“It was brilliant dropping toys at the hospital, they were so grateful and it’s brilliant to know we’re making a small difference.”

Alongside the donation, Lavender Hills also collected essential items for a charity they work closely with, Ramsbottom Pantry. Items included a range of toiletries and seasonal clothing.

The Pantry is a volunteer food pantry, donation-driven, that aims to support the community directly.

“It was great to work with Jeannette on a campaign that is so close to her heart, and we were delighted to be able to extend our support to include Ramsbottom Pantry during what can be a particularly challenging time of year.

“It was also so heart-warming to see the generosity of our wider community, with our residents’ families donating a wonderful number of toys, alongside the fantastic contributions from our Tuesday toddlers’ group.

“Supporting local community projects is really important to us, and it’s something our residents, their loved ones and our staff take great pride in. We look forward to continuing to help and support more people throughout 2026.”
