Marley Court Nursing home in Chorley partied this Halloween with a Go on Tour Theatre performance, the mobile theatre company visited the home organised by Activity Coordinator Elaine Wright, in preparation for the performance Marley court really went to town in decorating the care with a whole host of decorations including dangling witches legs, ghosts, Pumpkins and black cats on, and a brilliant ‘witches and cauldron’ the home was filled with carved pumpkins which had been great fun on the run up to Halloween.

The Actors from Go on Tour which is part of Blackburn Empire theatre put on a special performance for the residents and staff at Marley Court Nursing home which comes after the home celebrate winning a Great British Care Award.

The room filled with laughter and applause for over an hour as the performers entertained the home with a variety of different acts including Sister Act, a comedian and an Opera singer.

The party ended with the whole room singing sweet Caroline and shaking tambourine’s.

Michael from Go on tour say’s– As a singer – it’s a pleasure to see the faces of people who might not be able to communicate like they used to, they remember song words and we get so much pleasure in making them smile.”

Ann Crook – resident at Marley court say’s “That’s the best performance i have ever seen, i’ve enjoyed everything today including the Halloween decorating and pumpkin carving.”

Elaine Wright Activities Co-ordinator at Marley Court say’s “ The performance was absolutely fantastic, to see increased communication, smiles and the immediate impulse to start toe-tapping made the day special for all of our residents and families, it was clear that everyone has thoroughly enjoyed today as well as preparing for today with the decorations.
