Marley court Nursing home celebrate earning their GOOD rating across all five tested areas with CQC in an Abba themed party in the home.
All staff donned full PPE yet still dressed up in 1970s costumes making it a day to remember.
The residents all gathered in the lounge enjoying afternoon Tea whilst singing along to Take a Chance and Dancing Queen.
Staff at the home competed with each other by dressing themselves in 70’s glam and residents voting on who wore it best, the winner being Steve the Maintenance man.
Activities coordinator Elaine Wright provided residents with 70’s glasses and plastic microphones to sing and dance along from arm their arm chairs.
Themed cupcakes matching staff uniforms and a green Good in all areas cake were made by Senior Carer Dawn Clarke which were cut and shared out to toast the CQC report and thank the hard-working staff at Marley court alongside afternoon tea!
The registered manager of Marley Court Nursing home, Jane Lyth, said:
“I’m delighted the inspectors recognised the quality of care delivered by my amazing team, this result shows how dedicated our staff are and having this celebration shows them how much their hard work is appreciated. The power of music proves to be the best way to uplift the mood around the home and we all had a fantastic day.”
The care home earned the GOOD rating across all five tested areas – Safety, Effectiveness, Care, Responsiveness and Leadership – following a CQC inspection in September.
Marley Court have plans to create a Covid secure visitation area of the home following the success of Covid secure lodges at other care homes within the Millennium care group, details will be announced soon.
