Last week, we welcomed Training2Care to two of our homes. The company is on a mission to provide the most cost-effective, practical and powerful training that embeds good practice and changes lives.
Lavender Hills Care Home, based in Ramsbottom, and Norley Hall Care Home, based in Wigan, hosted the training provider, who provided a mixture of sessions for our staff team.
As a provider, we must offer the best training for our staff team, so they can deliver outstanding care and be confident in doing so.
Training2Care provided the immersive D.I.E.T and Dementia Interpreter Training, which gave staff a better insight into the day-to-day experiences of those suffering with dementia.
The D.I.E.T training offers a dining experience that allows participants to step into the sensory and emotional challenges people with dementia face at mealtimes. The training gives staff practical strategies to improve independence, enjoyment and dignity with the ultimate aim of reducing frustration for both residents and staff.
The Dementia Interpreter Training is a more general session focusing on how dementia affects communication, behaviour and emotion, which teaches staff how to best interpret behaviours and respond confidently.
Both Lavender Hills and Norley Hall provide dementia, residential and respite care, so initial and refresher training is important to support the delivery of outstanding care.
