Millennium champions four charitable causes
Millennium Care has supported four charities with grants of £500 following a recent Christmas campaign.
In November we launched A Millennium Little Christmas, a campaign providing financial opportunities to deliver impact.
The £2,000 awarded will benefit over 350 people throughout the festive period.
The charities supported were Day Trippers Bolton who provide inclusive and accessible days out for families with a child with disabilities.
The Halliwell Befriending Service support the elderly and vulnerable by creating social interactions and reducing isolation.
Prestwich Met Street Eats support the homeless community. The final charity supported was Wigan Youth Zone which works with young people by providing opportunities and raising aspirations.
“We’ve had a great response from charities across the North West – we just wish we could do more! The groups and projects we’ve supported will have a clear impact on their beneficiaries.
“For the other groups who got in contact, we’re learning more about the great work that goes on in our communities and hopefully we can provide further support in 2024.”
“It’s amazing that you want to gift us £500, it’ll make such a difference to us and our amazing service users.
“We get about 20 people every Thursday and the month will enable us to buy tents, sleeping bags, and Christmas treats plus another army flask we use to keep the food hot.”
The funding will assist Wigan Youth Zone's family Christmas meal for over 200 young people and their families, Day Trippers Bolton's annual pantomime trip for 70 people, The Halliwell Befriending Service's Christmas Party, and enable Prestwich Met Street Eats to buy essential items for the homeless.
