Langtree launches Baby & Toddler Group

2 minute read

Langtree Care Home is starting a Baby & Toddler Group to create long-lasting intergenerational relationships.

Langtree Care Home provides nursing and dementia care within the Standish Care Village.

The new Baby & Toddler Group will be tailored to both the residents and the children in attendance, creating benefits for both parties.

The home will host the Group every Wednesday between 10:30 and 11:45 am. The sessions will involve varied activities such as sensory play, music and movement, while attendees will be supported with refreshments.

“We can’t wait to get these sessions underway and build intergenerational relationships. We’ve seen the amazing benefits activities like this have on our residents and the young people who come.

“We promise the sessions will be engaging, full of life and be something that everyone looks forward to!”

Sabrina Myers, Lifestyle & Enrichment Coordinator at Langtree Care Home

Millennium Care has a history of embedding a variety of forward-thinking approaches to improve the lives of residents; one of those approaches is intergenerational care.

Having worked closely with Intergenerational England, a UK charity that is dedicated to bridging the generational divide and creating connections, the provider now prioritises meaningful and long-lasting connections.

Some of the benefits include a reduction in loneliness, improving cognitive function, enhancing emotional wellbeing, supporting development in children, creating purpose, improving physical health and providing community impact.
