This week we celebrated the staff at Langtree Care Home, it’s not always easy in a new home, but the team have consistently worked hard, come together and gone above and beyond to deliver brilliant days for our residents.
Check out how we thanked our staff!
What are the roles in a care home? It’s probably more than you think, but collectively they help breathe life into Langtree and our other homes.
Carer
Carers are the heart of the care home, providing day-to-day support with personal care, meals, mobility and emotional wellbeing. They build trusted relationships with residents, helping them live with dignity, comfort and independence.
Senior Carer
Senior Carers lead by example on the floor, supporting residents while guiding and mentoring care staff. They help coordinate shifts, oversee care delivery and act as a key link between carers and management.
Nurse
Nurses provide clinical expertise, managing medication, health assessments and complex medical needs. They work closely with GPs and healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive safe, responsive and personalised care.
Activities Coordinator
The Activities Coordinator brings daily life to the care home, creating meaningful programmes that support wellbeing, independence and joy. From social events to one-to-one activities, they ensure every resident has opportunities to stay engaged and connected.
Group Music Ambassador
The Group Music Ambassador uses music to enhance wellbeing, connection and memory across the home. They lead sessions, encourage participation and help embed music as a meaningful part of everyday life.
Hairdresser
The Hairdresser helps residents feel confident, comfortable and themselves. More than a haircut, their role supports self-esteem, routine and social interaction in a relaxed, familiar setting.
Personal Trainer
Personal Trainers support residents to stay active and mobile through tailored, safe exercise. They focus on strength, balance and confidence, helping residents maintain independence and physical wellbeing.
Head Chef
The Head Chef leads the kitchen team and oversees nutritious, high-quality meals tailored to residents’ needs and preferences. They balance health requirements with flavour, comfort and choice, making mealtimes something to look forward to.
Sous Chef
The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef in delivering consistent, high-quality food. They help manage the kitchen day-to-day, mentor junior staff and ensure meals meet dietary and safety standards.
Commis Chef
Commis Chefs are developing chefs who support food preparation and service. They play an important role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly while learning the skills needed to progress in their culinary careers.
Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapists support residents to live as independently and safely as possible. They assess individual needs and adapt activities, routines and environments to help residents maintain skills, confidence and quality of life.
Maintenance Person
The Maintenance Person ensures the care home is safe, comfortable and well-maintained. From quick fixes to preventative checks, they help create an environment where residents and staff can focus on living and caring.
Domestic & Housekeeper
Domestics and Housekeepers keep the care home clean, comfortable and welcoming. Their work supports infection control, safety and dignity, while also helping create a homely environment where residents can relax and feel at ease.
Deputy Manager
The Deputy Manager supports the Home Manager in running the care home day to day. They help lead teams, maintain care standards and ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate support.
Home Manager
The Home Manager is responsible for the overall leadership of the care home. They set the culture, support staff, ensure regulatory compliance and work closely with residents and families to create a safe, caring and well-run home.
Our homes are well-oiled machines and Langtree is no different, working hard and collaboratively delivering outstanding care helping our residents age with vibrancy. Why don't you come and join the team!
