Double Celebration at Norley Hall Care Home
There was a wonderful atmosphere of celebration at Norley Hall Care Home this last week, as residents, families and staff came together to mark two very special milestones.
Kathleen Jones celebrated her 100th birthday on 22 March, reaching an incredible century of life surrounded by loved ones. The celebrations continued with a party held on Sunday, where she was also delighted to receive a congratulatory telegram from His Majesty The King; an honour reserved for centenarians across the UK.
Adding to the joyful occasion, Pamela and David Brooks marked their 60th wedding anniversary on 26 March. The couple celebrated their diamond anniversary with a charming afternoon tea, sharing the moment with fellow residents, staff and family members.
To commemorate both occasions, the home presented Kathleen, as well as Pamela and David, with flowers and cards. The Lady Mayoress, accompanied by her Mayoral Consort, also attended the celebrations, bringing well-wishes on behalf of the local community.
“It’s very, very special. I mean, to reach the age of 100, it’s absolutely fabulous. So, it’s really great to be able to celebrate with Kathleen and her family today.
“Pam and David’s 60th, diamond wedding anniversary is another lovely celebration of married life together, and you can really feel the love that David’s expressing. We must recognise these moments, even in a care home setting. These occasions are incredibly significant, and I’m just delighted to have been invited to be part of it.”
“Coming into the home, I received such a lovely welcome. Someone was there waiting for me on the doorstep, which was so reassuring. I was greeted very kindly and brought into a beautiful conservatory where a lovely afternoon tea was being served.
“It’s also wonderful to hear about the activities taking place here. Having staff dedicated to engaging residents and focusing on their individual interests is so important.
“I really enjoyed the tour, it’s incredible. The home is beautiful, and the standards here are very high. Please do pass that message on.”
The celebrations highlighted the strong sense of community at Norley, where life’s most meaningful milestones continue to be recognised and shared.
