Meet Julia, Norley’s new Activity Coordinator

5 minute read

This month, Norley Hall welcomed a new Activity Coordinator to the home, Julia Entwistle!

With over 23 years of activities experience with roles in the NHS before moving into care, Julia is also a qualified lecturer with a degree in art and design – we’re sure that will come in handy.

She loves working in the care sector, and we’re delighted to have her onboard!

What made you choose this role?

"I was very attracted to Millennium Care; I love what you do as a company for the residents. I think the facilities and team are top notch and it’ll allow me to make our residents feel good and it’s something to be proud of.

"When you work in a great team, it makes you want to achieve more, it gives you the independence and opportunity to bring innovative new ideas for the residents and that’s what it’s all about!"

Tell us a little bit more about you.

"Through the NHS, I was part of an Occupational Therapist team where meaningful activities were the core of everything that we did. I’ve always had a passion for facilitating choice and independence."

What are your plans for the role?

"I’m looking forward to finding what makes people tick and unlocking personal interests in our residents to encourage them to live life to the full. I think it’s important to get to know each resident individually and get the staff involved in the activities; we all should be having fun together.

"I plan to embrace the good work that’s already been done, and I will bring forward my art and design and Occupational Therapy skills to enhance the lives of our residents."

What excited you about this role?

"I’m very excited to start this new role, it’s been a positive risk, and I’m very excited to run with some of the ideas I’ve got. I’ve contacted people already to get the ball rolling with and enhance the lives of the residents as we aim to make every day as stimulating and enjoyable as possible.

"I can’t wait for the weather to improve so we can all get out and go on trips. I plan to renovate the garden with the support of the residents, so we all have a little exciting project to look forward to.

"I’m looking forward to building relationships with the community too, as I feel we’ll be given a warm welcome. I believe that Norley Hall is very invested in giving back, I can’t wait to get involved and support the good work in our community."
