Managers Doing More

4 minute read

Managers from Millennium Care upped their charitable game at the end of the year by supporting three local charities.

As part of the Managers Doing More campaign, Home Managers reached out to local charities and offered a day of their time in the run-up to Christmas.

The three Registered Managers involved have supported My Life Standish, Wigan and Leigh Hospice and Prestwich Met Street Eats who all do amazing work in the community.

Ffion, Manager at Windsor House, supported My Life by helping them deliver their annual Christmas dinner to beneficiaries and staff members.

“It was a huge privilege working and spending time at My Life, it was hard work peeling and crossing sprouts, but the service users and staff are so deserving! The work they do in the community is amazing and I’m looking forward to our home, Windsor House, supporting them further.”

“We’re always grateful for the hard work of volunteers at My Life, our charity is community driven so the more people that get involved and learn about our work the better!

“It was great to have Ffion over helping the team, we’ve built a good relationship with Millennium Care and we’re confident this will continue in 2024!”

Jodie Crompton, Operations Manager at My Life

Gail, who runs our Lakeside Home, gave her time to Wigan and Leigh Hospice's Standish store which raises vital funds for the Hospice while Kala, Lavender Hills' Manager volunteered at Prestwich Met Street Eats which aids the homeless.

“Spending a day helping the team at the Wigan and Leigh Hospice shop in Standish was a truly humbling experience, they do fantastic work raising money for the hospice which does amazing work for people in Wigan with incurable illnesses.”

Gail Howard, Registered Manager at Lakeside Care Home.

"What really struck me about the experience was how everybody there was very sociable. They set up chairs in front of where all the food was, and they sat there for about two hours and had some hot food, hot drinks and they'll be talking to each other like they would do in the pub. It was a really lovely experience."
