Information Hub opened!

3 minute read

Millennium Care is on the verge of opening a state-of-the-art EMI home and has cut the ribbon on an information hub, providing stakeholders with a first look at the home’s bespoke interior.

Langtree Care Home, to be opened in Autumn 2024, will be based in Standish, Wigan. The Standish Care Village will be the first of its kind in the North West providing a continuity like no other as it caters for all levels of elderly care.

Langtree Care Home will specialise in EMI dementia care, while its same-site sister homes Lakeside and Worthington Lake Care Home support respite, residential, dementia and nursing care.

The Standish Care Village Information Hub has been set up to provide a clear understanding of the new home's style, focusing on the bespoke interior design that takes inspiration from heritage in the North West.

Touching on the Wainwrights, the work of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth Langtree Care Home will emit a classic countryside feel, providing a homely environment for residents and staff.

This theme promotes one of Millennium Care’s core principles which involves deinstitutionalising care settings to create better outcomes helping residents live happier, healthier and longer lives.

“We’re thrilled to have reached another milestone for Langtree Care Home and the Standish Care Village. As well as being a state-of-the-art EMI care home the new hub shows just how beautiful the build will be.

“At Millennium Care we want to break the institutionalised nature of care homes, we want our residents to feel at home and happy in spaces that positively engage their senses.”

Beth Brydges, Executive Assistant to the MD at Millennium Care

"Having worked with this client before I was thrilled to get the opportunity to bring their vision to life in this exciting new EMI Care home development. The team at Millennium all share the same passion, with the focus being on the resident’s wellbeing and the shared belief that your environment can shape your mood.

"It's been a pure joy to work with Millennium on this project, they set the framework to what will be a beautiful home with a clear brief, showcasing oak beams, social interactive kitchen spaces and a staff focussed approach to the design. A heritage aesthetic is a comforting and familiar setting for the residents and themes of nature and bringing elements of the outside in has proven therapeutic benefits.

"Every detail in this home has been considered, from looking at ways to make areas more social and involve staff and residents’ interaction, to the artwork showing themes of nature to the choices of a heritage framework. A playful eclectic mix of colours were considered to create a complex palette that felt uplifting and eclectic but a softer palette so not to be overstimulating. A well-designed homely home with all avoidance of commercial elements that would make the spaces feel institutionalised in any way.

"The team have done a wonderful job at fitting out the information hub and it really gives an insight into the beautiful colours and eclectic style that you will see when the home is completed."

Joyce Clutton, Director at Everyroom Ltd who also led on the design

The information hub will have an array of content around the upcoming home, the existing homes on site and the vision for the eagerly anticipated Standish Care Village.
