Lavender Hills care home Ramsbottom and Brookdale care home Bury send thanks to Peter Adamson
Peter also know as the “claim to fame man” has been singing and playing Music for our residents at Brookdale care home Bury and Lavender Hills Ramsbottom for a number of years after meeting one of our residents at the pepper pot club in Bury.
Peter met Ian who is Brookdale care home resident ambassador at the Pepper Pot club in Bury 4 years ago where they developed a friendship which would blossom over their weekly meetings.
When Brookdale care home decided to stop visiting the Pepper pot club each week Peter decided that he wanted to give something back to the home after a long carer as a music teacher Peter decided to visit Brookdale once a month with his guitar and perform for the residents of the Bury care home, Peter did such a fantastic job at Brookdale the residents couldn’t wait to see him perform again.
I spoke to Peter about his performance and carer as a Music teacher.
“Well there is no pressure, I love music so I enjoy it and as I’m voluntary it takes that pressure off.”
Peter continues- “ I do one concert a week alternating between 5 homes and this all started after I met Ian from Brookdale care home. I know what songs residents like, popular ones include Daisy daisy, You are my sunshine and some George Formby.”
Peter retired 5 years ago from teaching in a school, since then he has worked with care homes in Lancashire as well as focused on his 9 albums that can be found on youtube, Amazon and Spotify.
Peter very kindly made a CD for a resident at Lavender Hills which was very well received. We would like to thank Peter for his very kind generosity over the years from us all at Millennium care.
Thank you peter you’re a star!
